Bill And Ted 3 Social Media Marketing Campaign

In preparation for the premiere of the movie, we will leverage social media. The platforms we will be using are Facebook, Instagram, Tik Tok, and Twitter. The duration of this plan will be six months. The first three months will be the pre-event phase, one month for the during the event phase, and the last two months will be the post-event phase. We will be targeting a wide variety of generations of ages since the very first movie was back in the 1980s. We will be working with influencers on this campaign and set up a contest to encourage our fans to help with exposure for the movie.

Our two SMART goals will be:

  • We will focus on the gain as much exposure as possible. We aim to have at least 5,000 videos on Tik Tok of fans participating in our contest.
  • We aim for a 90% positive feedback report.

Social Media Platforms

We will be using multiple social media platforms such as Instagram, Tik Tok, Twitter, and Facebook. Tik Tok is known for its viral opportunities. Unlike other platforms, Tik Tok thrives on trends. This is the perfect opportunity to start a trend with a popular influencer to build exposure. Instagram, as well as Facebook, is one of the OG social media platforms that built its audience over time. Facebook is the social media platform that has the most users in the world. We will have to use both organic and paid advertisements. Lastly, Instagram will come in handy with its story feature and feed. It is important to make great interactive content for the stories because the more people who watch the story, the more Instagram pushes the account’s story in front of people.

Target Audience

We want to target the right generations and use the correct platform to reach them. Generation X is most likely the generation who watched the movies in the 80s and early 90s considering they were in their teen years. We can also consider baby boomers as well. The best platform to use for this audience is Facebook. These generations go to social media to stay connected with friends and family and to find old friends. The next generation is Xennials which is the age range of 35–45. Usually, this age group will be on both Instagram and Facebook. The next generation would be millennials. You can find millennials on all platforms. Lastly, generation Z can be found on all platforms. They are known as digital tech generation.

Voice

Bill and Ted have a very unique voice. They are known for using the word “excellent’ for many of their adjectives. Bill and Ted also talk in a way as if they are laid back. They always tend to use the word “dude” a lot; therefore, the voice should be considered chill.

Hashtags

Some hashtags that may be used are #beexcellent, #billandted3, #mostexcellentjam, and #facethemusic. The hashtags #beexcellent and #billandted3 can be used on all platforms because it generalizes the whole movie concept. The hashtag #mostexcellentjam will be the hashtag on Tik Tok because it would line up with the video that the influencer. The hashtag #facethemusic will be on all platforms.

Influencer Partnership

In regards to influencer relationships, we will work on partnering with Jay D Stryder, known as @jaydstryder on Tik Tok. He has 273.6k followers on Tik Tok. His brand and personality are similar to Bill and Ted when it comes to the rocker persona. The way I found Jay was by searching the hashtag #billandted. We aimed to find a bill and ted fan who has a following and influence

The idea for Instagram content would be similar to this — giving count downs. A sample caption will be “only 3 months dude for our return, comment down below your birth year. #beexcellent #billandted3 #3months #moviepremiere”. This caption shows the voice of the brand and ties in a call to action opportunity. The question opens up an opportunity to gather age data.

For Instagram, our caption will be… “It is finally here, time to head on back into the phone booth in a theatre near you or how we say it in 2020…your home tv near you, dudes! #billandted3 #stayexcellent”.

On Facebook, our caption will be…”Hope you all had #themostexcllent time watching the movie. Share your thoughts!”
